My experience with Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville (OAZ) was a wonderful one. On February 17th, 2020, I broke my wrist and needed surgery. The knowledgeable physicians and caring staff made the process from assessment to surgery smooth and swift. The short waits, fast actions, and attention to my situation made this experience one I will never forget.
The accident happened while I was playing pickleball on February 17th, 2020. I went back for a lob, lost my footing, and tried to brace my fall with my wrist. In the act of doing so, I heard and felt a pop in my right wrist. At first glance, I knew something was wrong and called my husband, Hank Littick, to come pick me up. He took me to OAZ hoping there would be a quick solution. We arrived at OAZ at 12:00 pm and waiting to meet with a physician. Within ten minutes of waiting, I was brought back for X-Rays. Shortly after my X-Rays, Dr Gasparine had Dr Kimberly come in the room to discuss treatment options. It was apparent that surgery was the best option. After a few short questions, Dr Kimberly then called the anesthesiologist at Northpointe Surgery Center to see if there was a possibility to do surgery ASAP. We Left OAZ at 1:00 pm with a surgery time scheduled at 3:00 pm. The surgery lasted a total of thirty minutes, plus recovery time. I was out of Northpointe Surgery Center by 6:00 pm and home by 6:30 pm. The result of the surgery ended up being a plate and three screws placed in my right wrist. I highly recommend OAZ because I felt like the physicians, nurses, and staff treated me like a priority and were very caring during the entire process. The transition from X-Rays to surgery was quick, easy, and smooth. I can’t thank OAZ enough, especially Dr Kimberly, for making this such a positive experience! I’m now fully healed and have full mobility back in my wrist. I’m also back to playing pickleball and tennis! If it wasn’t for the quick actions taken by the physicians at OAZ, then I wouldn’t be in the condition I am today. The small town, personal feeling sets them apart from the rest!
Sheri’s case is an example of what we strive for at Orthopaedic Associates, to provide the best orthopaedic care possible.
Utilizing our Ortho Express Urgent Care saved Sheri an approximate $2,500 Emergency Room bill and hours of time. We then performed her surgical procedure at NorthPointe Surgical Suites, which is an award winning surgical center in Zanesville, OH with a 4.9 out of 5 star Google rating.
The x-rays below show the before and after images of her wrist. I used a specialized plate and screws to repair the fracture. It is so rewarding to know that she’s back to her tennis and pickle ball activities, as good as ever.
